The Otey Music Theory System is the result of more than 50 years of research. Orlando Otey, the Mexican born pianist who gave his first concerts at age 4 began examining the fundamentals of music during his coursework at
Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA where he was awarded a scholarship for his compositions in 1946.
